Current Work

I am currently working towards my PhD at Oxford Brookes University where I am a member of the Oxford Wildlife Trade Research Group with the Anthropological Centre for Conservation, the Environment and Development (ACCEND). I am studying the effects of the Ebola epidemic in Sierra Leone on people’s perceptions and use of various species of wildlife. My work in Sierra Leone has led me to start a project which focuses on preserving wildlife and improving communities in and around important ecological areas in Sierra Leone called the Pan Verus Project. The Pan Verus Project brings wildlife conservation and community development together by supporting research as well as implementing community outreach programs, and alternative income sources to reduce the reliance on threatened species.
